Designer duo Rimple and Harpreet Narula showcased their couture collection recently on the first day of fashion and lifestyle extravaganza Rutbaa 2012 at The Grand.
“The collection draws heavily from a world of cultural influences, with the Persian civilization and their arts forming the central theme. Expect experimental silhouettes that push boundaries with lots of drama and a surreal twist. Inspired by the rich heritage of our textile crafts, as well as traditional embroidery arts from all over the Indian sub-continent, the collection has something for everyone.”, says Harpreet.
A rich and vibrant color palette featuring indigo blues and lush blacks tempered with neutrals like beiges and camels, accentuated by the use of vibrant reds, an interesting mix of antique and modern fabrics, immaculate detailing and exquisite embroideries are the hallmarks of the collection, making each piece stand out.
Rich Kin Khwab brocades and lustrous silks come alive with scintillating zardozi and semi precious stones that breathe life onto the surfaces while the theatrical larger than life silhouettes are evocative of a bygone majestic grandeur.
